Job Vacancies at KDF for 2025

The current positions available for recruitment at KDF comprises two (2) separate cadets with each of them possessing different qualifications

1. General Service Officer Cadet

• Applicant must possess a mean grade B (plain) in KCSE, with at least C+ in English, Swahili, Mathematics, and another core subject
• Candidate must agree to completing a three years training in this category which will lead to a Bachelor’s Degree in Defence and Security

2. General Service Officer Cadet Graduate

• This category  requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution
• Fifteen months is the training period of this category which the applicant must agree to

Requirements for Next KDF Recruitment 2025

Persons interested in applying for the next Kenya Defence Forces recruitment for 2025/2026 must meet the key requirements below.

• Must possess a valid Government issued ID like National Identity Card or Passport.
• A minimum of D+ mean grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E) is required.
• Applicant must not be younger than eighteen (18) years.
• A minimum height of 1.60m (5ft) is required for male and 1.52m for female applicants.
• Body Mass Index (BMI) must be below 30 for both male and female applicants.
• Pregnant women are discouraged from applying due to rigorous training process.
• You must be medically and physically fit with your skin having no deep scars or tattoos.

Kenya Defence Forces Recruitment Process

1. Submission of Application: KDF sets off its recruitment exercise by announcing new vacancies and therefore invites application from suitably qualified and interested candidates. Submissions are done online by visiting the recruitment portal.

2. Shortlisting: After the expiration of the application period, the management of Kenya Defence Forces will then review submitted applications and then shortlist names of successful candidates.
